a song

black coffee blues-

in the mornin' just waking up
plate of eggs on the table
my coffee's black, the skies are blue
everythings here, everything except you

the open window lets the mornin' in
see the highway and i'm wonderin'
just how far, just how far away
how far away you got this time

i got the blues and the sky sure must too
'cause it don' t seem as bright as it did when i had you
now theres one seat at the table where there should be two
you left me to my lonesome with the black coffee blues

sure is lonely when you're not close
in the mornings' when i miss you most
i'd a stopped you lord if i was able
now it's just me, black coffee and this old breakfast table

I like this one, has a real 'old style' country feeling to it. Still working
out some kinks in the musical part of it, but i feel good about it.....

Love the tune, brother. It's honest.

I am also slightly offended that I had to stumble across this blog.
